Clover Station Duo
The counter station with a customer-facing screen for tips and signatures. The usual choice for the register at a quick-service counter or the server station in a dining room.
Clover POS by business type
Clover POS for restaurants, set up by Stratamize: quick-service and full-service plans, Flex tableside ordering, online ordering and staff training.
A restaurant point of sale has one job: keep orders moving from the guest to the kitchen to the check without anyone fighting the screen. Clover is built for that, and it comes in more than one shape. Quick-service and full-service plans, a countertop station, a handheld for the floor and a kitchen display are all pieces you can mix, and the right mix depends on how you serve.
Stratamize sets Clover up around your restaurant: the merchant account, the menu and modifiers, tips and check splitting, online ordering if you want it, the hardware on the counter and the training for your team. We put the pricing in writing before you commit, and our team is the first call when something changes.
This page answers the questions restaurant owners ask us most. Pizza shops have their own page because their menus work differently; see the related pages below.
Clover splits its restaurant software into quick-service and full-service plans. A counter that takes the order, takes the payment and hands over a number has different needs from a dining room that seats guests, runs courses and closes checks at the end of the meal. Some features, table maps among them, are tied to the plan tier rather than the hardware.
Tell us how you serve and we will match the plan to it and show you exactly which features each tier includes before you sign anything. If you run both, a counter at lunch and table service at dinner, say so; that changes the recommendation.
Yes. The Clover Flex is the handheld built for that: a server takes the order at the table, sends it to the kitchen and later closes the check at the table, including the tip prompt, without walking back to a station. The same device works for line-busting when a queue forms at the counter. Ask us how many handhelds your floor needs; it usually comes down to how many servers are on at once.
Splitting checks and handling tips, including tip pooling, are among the first things restaurant owners ask us about. Bring your current routine with you: splits by seat, by item or evenly; who shares tips and how they are paid out. We will walk you through how that routine is handled on the Clover setup we propose, so you see it working before you commit rather than after.
Clover offers its own online ordering for pickup and delivery, which is the alternative to living on third-party marketplaces alone. Whether you also keep a marketplace listing, and what each connection costs, is a conversation worth having before go-live rather than after; ask us which integrations fit your menu and your delivery radius and we will lay out the options and their costs in writing.
A kitchen printer prints a ticket; the Clover Kitchen Display shows the ticket on a screen, where the line can bump items as they finish. Smaller kitchens often run fine on a printer. Busier lines, or a kitchen with several stations, tend to want the display so nothing gets lost on the rail. Tell us your volume at the peak hour and how your line is laid out, and we will recommend one or the other.
This is the question behind most of the searches that land here, and it deserves a plain answer. We set your pricing with you and put it in writing before you sign, including the processing rates, the software plan and the hardware. Nothing is added later that you did not see up front. A cash discount, 3.5% off for cash, is available if it fits your restaurant. Ask us for a quote; it is the fastest way to see the real numbers for your volume.
Approvals usually come back within hours, three days at most. After approval we build the menu with you, set up employees and tips, place the hardware and train the team. How long that takes depends on the menu: a short counter menu is quick, a full dining menu with many modifiers takes longer because we test it before go-live rather than letting your staff find the gaps on a Friday night.
No single point of sale is. Clover is a strong fit for counter service, casual dining and most full-service rooms. Concepts with very complex modifier logic, half-and-half pizzas being the classic example, need the menu built carefully, and that is work we do before go-live rather than leaving it to you. If your concept depends on something Clover does not do natively, we will tell you, and we will tell you whether an app from the Clover App Market or a different setup covers it. Candor up front is cheaper than a return.
Our team. You are a Stratamize merchant, not a ticket number, and the people who set up your system are the ones you call. We are based in Newnan, Georgia, and we work with restaurants nationwide. Ask us how support works for your location and what we can do on site versus remotely; the honest answer depends on where you are.
Multi-location reporting is a common question from owners planning a second store. Tell us how many locations you run or plan, whether they share a menu and whether you want one dashboard across all of them, and we will show you how that is handled on the Clover setup before you commit to it.
