Stratamize POS

What we set up for you

The address your store lives at, the locations and registers we created for you, which features are switched on, your card terminal, cash pricing, and the five things only Stratamize can change.

Menus and available actions depend on your role and enabled services. In the local demos, use sample records only; no real payments or messages are sent.

Your account is built before you sign in for the first time. This page tells you what is already in it, what you can change yourself, and what to ask us for.

Your address

Your store has its own web address in the form yourstore.stratamize.com. It is created with your account and does not change. Sign in there, or sign in at the main Stratamize address and pick your store from the list.

Your business details

We enter your business name, address, phone, email and your default sales-tax rate when the account is created. You can change all of those yourself later under Admin → General.

One thing that card does not control is what prints at the top of a receipt. That comes from the location record — its name, address and phone — and locations are ours to edit. Open Admin → Locations and tap a location to see what is on it; if it is wrong, email us.

Your business type — retail, restaurant, service or hybrid — is set at the same time. Mostly it changes the words the app uses: a restaurant sees Menu, Orders and Guests where a retail store sees Products, Sales and Customers. It no longer decides which pages are in your sidebar; your feature list does that.

It does still decide a few things that only make sense for one kind of business. A tip prompt appears at payment for restaurant and service accounts and not for retail. A paid order reaches the kitchen screen on restaurant and hybrid accounts only. Appointments are for service and hybrid accounts only, and stock transfers between stores are for every type except service. If a request is refused for this reason you see "This feature isn't enabled for your role or business type".

Locations and registers

We create your locations and your registers, and we attach a card terminal to a register when you have one.

Open Admin → Locations to see each location and how many registers it has. Open Admin → Registers to see every register: its name, its location, its terminal ID and serial number, and whether it is active. Both tabs carry the same note:

Locations, registers and payment terminals are managed by Stratamize.

You still open and close those registers yourself every day. That is on the Registers page, not in Admin — see Open your drawer for the day.

Which features are switched on

Not every page exists on every account. Your account carries a list of features, and the sidebar only shows the pages those features cover. Most are on from the start. A few are off until we switch them on for you, including Labs, Local Delivery, and managing your own locations and registers.

If a page you were expecting is not in the sidebar, read Why can't I see that menu item?.

Cash pricing

Cash pricing — also called dual pricing — is switched on per account by Stratamize. Either way there is a Payments card under Admin → General. When it is on, that card holds a Cash Discount (%) field and the percentage is yours to set. When it is off, the card says so in plain words: "Not enabled for your store. Contact Stratamize to turn on cash discounting."

With cash pricing on, your listed prices are your card prices, and a sale paid entirely in cash comes off by that percentage before tax. See Discounts and cash pricing.

The five things only we can change

Email support@stratamize.com to change any of these:

  1. Locations — adding, renaming or retiring a store.
  2. Registers — adding or retiring a till.
  3. Terminals — which card terminal belongs to which register.
  4. Features — turning a page or a capability on or off for your account.
  5. Cash pricing — whether the cash-discount setting exists for you at all.

Everything else is yours: products, prices, tax rates, staff, customers, receipt wording and your rewards program.

There is no signup, upgrade or billing screen in the app. Account changes go through support.
