Your locations and registers are set up by Stratamize and shown to you read-only. What you do control is which register this particular device is standing at, which matters more than it sounds.
Read your locations
Administration → Locations. Each location is a card showing its name, street address, phone number, and how many registers belong to it. The pencil opens a read-only summary of the same four things and says Full location editing is managed by your administrator.
Above the cards is the standing note: Locations, registers and payment terminals are managed by Stratamize.
The address and phone on this card are what print on receipts rung at that location — they are not the Business Information you type on the General tab.
Read your registers
Administration → Registers. A table with one row per register:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name | What the register is called on screen. |
| Locations | Which location it belongs to. |
| Terminal ID | The card terminal assigned to it, or - if none. |
| Serial No | The terminal's serial number, or - if none. |
| Status | Active or Inactive. |
A register with - in both terminal columns has no card terminal wired to it.
Terminal IDs and serials are assigned by Stratamize and cannot be typed in here.
Tell the app which register you are at
This is the one thing on this page you do yourself, and every device needs it done once.
- Open Registers from the main menu (not the Administration tab).
- Find your counter in the list.
- Press Use This Register.
- A message reads Now using … with the register's name.
Opening a float on a register does the same thing automatically — after Open, that device is using that register. Use This Register exists for the case where the float was opened from a different device, or where the browser has forgotten.
It matters because:
- Sales rung on this device are recorded against that register.
- The drawer count at close compares against that register's takings.
- Where card processing is set up, the card option is also resolved from this register. If several registers at your store have a float open at once and this device has not been told which one it is at, the card option is withheld rather than guessed.
The choice is remembered per browser. A new device, a new browser, a cleared browser or a different profile all need it set again.
Ask for a change
Adding a location, adding or renaming a register, retiring one, or moving a card terminal from one counter to another is a request to Stratamize. Include:
- your store name;
- what you want changed, in plain words ("second register at the Newnan store", "rename Register 1 to Front Counter");
- for a terminal move, the terminal's serial number from the Registers table.
See Limits → What Stratamize controls, and how to ask.
