Look up any past sale

Sales History search across the whole store, opening the detail, and reprinting.

Menus and available actions depend on your role and enabled services. In the local demos, use sample records only; no real payments or messages are sent.

Sales History finds a sale that has already been rung, whoever rang it and whichever register it went through. It is where you go when a customer comes back with a bag and no receipt.

The filter bar across the top gives you:

  • From and To — the date range. It opens on the last seven days.
  • Transaction # or customer name — type a number and it looks up that sale; type anything else and it matches the customer's first name, last name or both. The name match is case-sensitive: smith does not find Smith. Type the name the way it was entered.
  • Cashier and Register dropdowns.
  • Min $ and Max $.

Press Search to apply. Changing a box does nothing until you do.

The two dropdowns are filled from a list only an Admin or Super can read. If you are a Manager they come up empty, and the rest of the filters still work — search by date, amount, transaction number or customer name instead.

Results come 25 to a page, newest first, with the arrows at the bottom right for the rest. The count above them reads 142 sales · page 1 of 6.

Reading the list

Each row shows the date and time, the transaction number, the customer, the cashier, how many items, the tender, and the total.

The Tender column shows a green cash badge and a blue card badge with the amounts on them. Store credit is not a badge, so a sale part-paid from a wallet shows only the cash or card part and its badges add up to less than the total.

Tabs that are still open never appear here. They are not finished sales.

A refunded sale looks exactly like any other. There is no marker, no strike-through and no filter for returns. To know whether a sale was refunded, open it and look at the Refund / Return panel.

Open one sale

Click any row. The detail shows the date, cashier, customer and register at the top, then every line on the sale with quantity, unit price and line total, then the tender breakdown and the totals — subtotal, discount, tax and total.

Two buttons sit at the bottom.

Print receipt opens a receipt sized for an 80 mm thermal roll. Review it, press Print and choose the printer in the browser dialog.

You can reprint another cashier's completed sale in the same store. The printed cashier name remains the name recorded on that sale. If Sale not found appears, check the transaction number and store account and confirm the sale completed; do not take payment again.

Refund / Return

Refund / Return opens the returns panel on the same sale, so you do not have to find it twice. What that panel does is covered in the returns guide.

The panel opens for anyone, but issuing the refund needs the Refund sale permission, and only Admin and Super hold it out of the box. A Manager cannot issue a refund, and a Manager's PIN will not approve one either — the override PIN has to belong to somebody who personally holds the permission, which means an Admin or a Super.

That person also needs a PIN, and Admin → Users creates people without one. Set a PIN for at least one owner-level account on the Employees page before your first return, or the first customer who brings something back will find nobody in the building who can process it.

What is not here yet

  • No export. Nothing on this page downloads. The nearest thing is Reports → Custom Report with the Sales line items source, which gives one row per line sold.
  • No refunded marker and no returns filter, as above.
  • No way to search by product, so "who bought this item" cannot be answered from here.
