Stratamize POS

Screens for restaurants and service businesses

The screens that exist for other kinds of business - Kitchen Display, Modifiers, Recipes, Floor Plan, Waitlist, Appointments, Bar Tracking, Tabs - why a retail store does not see most of them, and the two that show up anyway.

Menus and available actions depend on your role and enabled services. In the local demos, use sample records only; no real payments or messages are sent.

This page is about restaurants and service businesses. If you run a shop, read it once so you know what you are not missing, and move on.

Stratamize POS runs restaurants and service businesses as well as shops, out of the same product. The extra screens those businesses need are switched on for them and off for you. Nothing is missing from your store by mistake.

The screens you do not see, and who they are for

Screen For
Kitchen The kitchen display — orders as tickets on a screen by the pass.
Modifiers Choices on an item: no onions, extra shot, large.
Recipes What an item is made of, so selling it draws down ingredients.
Floor Plan Tables and their state, and which order belongs to which table.
Waitlist People waiting for a table.

Those five are off for a retail store because Kitchen and Floor Plan are restaurant features and your store was not set up as a restaurant.

Two you may see anyway

Appointments and Bar Tracking are switched on by default for every new store, including retail ones. If they are in your menu and you have no use for them, that is a setup detail rather than a decision about your shop.

Ask Stratamize to switch them off and the menu items disappear. There is no cost to leaving them, and no cost to removing them. See Limits → What Stratamize controls, and how to ask.

One you probably do want

Tabs & Preauth — the open-tab screens — is switched on for retail stores as well as bars. If it is in your menu and you do not use it, the same applies: ask and it goes.

If you reach one of these screens anyway

A bookmark or the Ctrl + K search bar can take you to a screen your store does not have. You get a card reading This feature isn't enabled on your account, with the feature's name and an email address. Nothing is broken.

Restaurants and service businesses see different words

The screens are the same; the labels change to fit the trade. If you are reading a Stratamize guide written for a restaurant, translate as you go:

Appointments Reservations Appointments

Dashboard, Reports, Registers and Administration keep their names everywhere.

Not covered here

How to actually use the kitchen display, floor plan, modifiers, recipes, waitlist or appointments is not written yet. This page exists to draw the boundary, not to teach them.

Local Delivery — a customer-facing ordering and delivery front end — also exists in the product, ships switched off, and has no merchant documentation at all. Do not plan around it.
