Stratamize POS

What Stratamize controls, and how to ask

The five things only Stratamize can change - which features are switched on, card processing, your locations and registers, the dual-pricing entitlement and the store details on your receipt - with what to include when you ask.

Menus and available actions depend on your role and enabled services. In the local demos, use sample records only; no real payments or messages are sent.

Most of the product is yours to configure. Five things are not, and knowing which is which saves you hunting for a setting that is not there.

1. Which features your store has

The menu down the left is not the same for every store. Screens like Purchase Orders, Inventory Transfers, Shipping, Messaging, Scheduling, Timesheets, Rewards, Kitchen, Floor Plan and Appointments are switched on or off for your store by Stratamize.

How you can tell. A feature that is off is not in the menu. If you reach it another way — a bookmark, a typed address, the Ctrl + K search bar — you get a card reading This feature isn't enabled on your account with the feature's name and an email address.

Ask for one to be turned on, or off. Naming the screen is enough.

Retail stores are commonly set up with Appointments and Bar Tracking showing even though they are for other kinds of business. If those are cluttering your menu, ask for them to be switched off — that is a request we expect and it costs you nothing.

2. Card processing

Whether your store can take a card at all, and how, is set up by us: the payment terminal, the account behind it, and which register it is wired to.

Nothing in your Settings turns card payments on. If the card option is not offered at checkout, see Daily selling → Take a card payment first — usually the device has not been told which register it is at, which you can fix yourself. If that is not it, it is a request to us.

3. Your locations and registers

Adding a location, adding or renaming a register, retiring one, or moving a card terminal from one counter to another. Your Administration screen shows all of them and says so on the page: Locations, registers and payment terminals are managed by Stratamize.

The one part that is yours: which register this device is standing at. See Settings → Locations and registers.

4. Whether you run cash discounting

The percentage is yours to set. Whether the programme runs at all is ours. If Administration → General → Payments shows Not enabled for your store, that is what you are asking us to change. See Settings → Set your cash discount percentage.

5. The store name, address and phone on your receipt

They come from your location record, which we hold. The Business Information you type on Administration → General does not reach the receipt. See Troubleshooting → The receipt shows the wrong store details or the wrong time.

How to ask

There is no way to raise a ticket with Stratamize from inside the app. The Support screen in the menu is your own internal ticket system, for your staff to log issues to each other. Nothing typed there reaches us.

Use whatever channel you were given when your store was set up — email or phone. If you no longer have it, the address the app itself shows on the This feature isn't enabled on your account card is support@stratamize.com.

To get an answer in one round trip, include:

  • Your store name, exactly as it appears at the top of the app.
  • Which location, if you have more than one.
  • What you want, in plain words. "Turn off Appointments and Bar Tracking." "Change the address on the Newnan receipt to …". "Second register at the front counter."
  • For anything about a terminal, its serial number — read it off Administration → Registers.
  • For a problem rather than a request, one example: a receipt number, a date and a time, and what you expected instead.

What we cannot change on request

Some things on the Not yet in Stratamize POS list are not switches — they are not built. Asking will not turn them on, though asking does tell us what to build next. The honest list is on that page.
